Maclean Bowling Club Activities

The following weekly calendar highlights the club’s regular activities:

MONDAY:

Free Members Raffle. Tickets go on sale from 5.30pm and the raffle is drawn from 6pm. Show your membership card and you will receive $5.00 worth of tickets for free!

After the raffle, join us from 6.30 to 8.30pm on the dance floor for Latin and Modern Dancing.

TUESDAY:

Chess Club from 9.00am.

Ladies Social Lawn Bowls from 9.00am.

Social darts from 7pm. The club has a strong social darts club and all ages and abilities are welcome to participate.

New Vogue dancing from 7.30pm.

WEDNESDAY:

Line Dancing for beginners 9am – 11am

Men’s Cash Jackpot Pairs from 1pm. This is one of the club’s most popular social competitions, so you will need to have your name in early.

Single entries are welcome provided enough notice is given (day before is fine). There is a chance to win a share of the $1,000 cash jackpot plus meat trays.

“Market Night”. Tickets go on sale from 6pm and the draw starts at 7pm (7.30pm during daylight saving). There is a huge array of great prizes plus the last Wednesday of every month is “Bonus Night” when hundreds of dollars in extra prizes are up for grabs.

THURSDAY:

Mixed “Twilight” Bowls Promotion from 5.15pm. This is the night when everyone is welcome to come along and try lawn bowls. No experience is necessary and there are great prizes on offer. Get a team together or come on your own. This activity is seasonal (warmer months) and we normally have a BBQ during the evening.

Woodford Island “Warriors” Cricket Club Raffle. Tickets on sale from 6pm and drawn from 7pm. The “Warriors” are sponsored by the club and run this great raffle to raise additional funds. The “Warriors” have both junior and senior teams so if you’re in to cricket why not come along and support our local team.

A new Members Draw is now held every Thursday and jackpots by $100 each week.

FRIDAY:

Men’s Triples Bowls from 1pm (1.30pm during daylight saving).

Friday “Fill the Fridge” Raffle. Tickets on sale from 6pm, drawn from 7pm. Only the best quality meat trays are on offer plus the chance to win extra prizes on the “Bonus Wheel”. Every winner gets a spin of the wheel.

Straight after the raffle, don’t miss the club’s live entertainment. Bands cater to a broad range of tastes and the club’s great dance floor is always jumping!

NPL Poker in the upstairs lounge. Sign on from 5.30pm, action starts from 7pm. To find out more about the region’s most popular poker league click here

SATURDAY:

Race Day. The club offers two TAB terminals plus monitors throughout the club. The club is a subscriber to “Giddy-Up” and “Sure-Pick” and our punters have access to the best form available. The club also runs several racing promotions on a regular basis.

Foxsports is available for those interested in the best of live sporting action throughout the day and night.

Maclean Lions Club hold their raffle every Saturday from 12pm. The raffle is drawn at 1pm and all proceeds go towards this most worthwhile community organisation.

SUNDAY:

Social Mixed Lawn Bowls from 2pm. This event is open to all bowlers and is a relaxing way to spend Sunday afternoon. A Sausage Sizzle is held during the day.

Tse’s Famous Smorgasbord. On the first and third Sunday of every month, Tse’s Chinese Restaurant offer members their famous smorgasbord. There is a great selection of hot and cold dishes plus desserts. It is important to make a reservation though, as seating is limited and always busy! Phone 6645 1633 for details and reservations.
